El camino de Santiago de Compostela
is the pilgrimage road to this city in north western Spain.

There
is the reputed burial place of the apostle Saint
James, and therefore a principal destination
of pilgrimages for over 1300 years.
Most of the original track still
passes through the same fields, vineyards and
villages, crosses the same rivers, visits the
same chapels, churches, cathedrals and other monuments
as did the path taken by our predecessors in centuries
gone by.
In the Summer of 2002 we completed
the 800 kilometers (500 miles)
Camino in 28 days. These webpages give an account
of our trip, as well as some background information
on the history of this pilgrimage.
