Jantina (Tineke) van Osnabrugge lost her fight against breast cancer on May 18, 2007.

A Celebration of Her Life will start at 1 p.m. Friday May 25 at Jennings Funeral Home, 5750 Swift Road, Sarasota.

Jantina grew up in The Netherlands as the oldest of 4 daughters. She met Willem during high school, married at age 23 and moved house a dozen times in three different countries.

She insisted on being a stay-at-home Mom for their son Mark, born in England, but often accompanied Willem on exotic business trips. While living in Holland, Jantina performed many years of volunteer work as a coordinator for the "Meals on Wheels" organization.

In the U.S., after their son had left for college, Jantina went back to college herself to study physical therapy and then set up and developed a successful practice over the next 10 years. She and Willem retired in 1999, moved to Sarasota, and became U.S. citizens.

In March of this year, they celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary in Holland with all their siblings. Their son is married to Kristine and lives in Minneapolis.

Survivors include her husband Willem, their son Mark, and sisters Neel, Gon and Ger.
Donations to StJude.org are appreciated by the family and all those battling cancer (Jantina’s heart would break every time she saw those children).
